At Highland Lodge Escapes we aim to make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as we can. If there is anything that you are unsure about regarding your stay please do not hesitate to contact us .

The answers to the  most popular questions are detailed below for your convenience

HOW CAN I BOOK A PROPERTY?

Please go to our availability page and select your dates, then follow the instructions or alternatively choose your Lodge from the drop down box then scroll down to the availability calendar, choose your dates then follow the instructions.

HOW DO I PAY A DEPOSIT?

We accept Visa, Mastercard or direct bank transfer.

WHAT IF I CANCEL?

Depends when you cancel in relation to your booking – if its within 24hrs of booking we will refund your deposit less an admin charge.

Any other cancellations are a percentage according to how many days it is until your holiday. However we will also change your booking to another date for you if there is availability.

This may incur an increase if you move into the following year or a busier period.

CAN I BRING A DOG(S) ?

Yes we accept well behaved dogs. There is a £30 surcharge per dog.

ARE THERE DOG GUIDELINES?

Yes we have comprehensive  guidelines which are sent to you once your booking is received along with your booking for dog(S)

WHEN ARE CHANGEOVER DAYS?

Monday & Friday

CAN MY HOLIDAY START ON A DIFFERENT DAY?

No.

Unless you are booking for Christmas or New Year week

HOW DO I BOOK A SHORT BREAK?

The same way as you would any other length of stay. Just choose your start days and finish days.

Scroll to the bottom of the individual house details on the website and you will find info re walks and cycles in the area.

There is also a map on house pages which you can use to google and check to see what is of interest to you in the area.

CAN I TAKE AN EXTRA PERSON/INFANT?

If there is a bed space available and you advise us prior to arrival and payment is received prior to arrival.

WHAT IS BOOKING FEE?

We do not have a booking fee for booking direct through our website or by phone. However other third parties will display their own costs on their own websites.

HOW DO I BOOK FOR FOLLOWING SEASON?

You can book as far in advance as the calendar allows, however if it does not go as far as you require then please call or email us directly to discuss

IS IT POSSIBLE TO BOOK SINGLE SEX PARTIES?

Each guest must be over 21 if booking a single sex group, the group leader must provide all required information, each individual is required to provide their name and a contact number, and a bond of £50 per person if 8 people or a £300 total Bond is payable in order to cover for any damage, breakages or excess cleaning

FUEL CHARGES?

All fuel is included in your price

WHAT DOES STAR GRADING MEAN?

It means the property is luxury accommodation with a hot tub, garden, fully equipped kitchen, and living and seating accommodation of a high standard.

HOW DO I KNOW IF THERE IS A BATH/SHOWER?

There is a floor plan for each house on its listing page which details the facilites

IS THERE PARKING?

There is private off road parking at all of our properties

HOW ENCLOSED IS THE GARDEN?

LOCHOLLY AND STAC POLLY:

There is deer fencing around the boundary of the two houses and an entrance gate over a cattle grid.

KIRKSTONE:

Fully enclosed with rylock fencing  at standard height and a double entrance gate.

DO I HAVE USE OF A TELEPHONE AT PROPERTY?

There rae no telephones in any of our properties

IS THERE BROADBAND ?

YES- All of our properties have wifi and the code information is available at the lodge

ARE TOWELS SUPPLIED?

YES- All of our properties have a selection of quality towels

HOW DO I PAY THE BALANCE?

Your balance will be requested at 63 days prior to arrival unless you have booked within that time then it is required at the time of booking.

 

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE CONFIRMATION AND DIRECTIONS?

Confirmation is immediate

Directions will be issued along with instructions for entry to the house once the Bond has been taken.

 

WHAT TIME DO I ARRIVE/DEPART?

Arrive no earlier than 4pm/depart no later than 10am

 

CAN WE INVITE FRIENDS TO STAY?

NO – you have paid according to the numbers of persons you booked for originally. If you would like to invite people to stay you must inform us of this prior to arrival and should there be bed space they can be added to your booking and any additional costs paid .

Should you not adhere to this any insurance will become nil and void.

 

WHAT IF WE ARE NOT HAPPY ON ARRIVAL OR EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS DURING OUR STAY?

If there is something wrong with the property on arrival which will compromise your stay eg no heating,  then we will do our best to have it sorted as soon as possible, however please bare in mind each house is in a rural  location.

If something should go wrong during your stay which will affect the remainder of your stay there is a contact for maintenance in the guest book.

However due to location we would expect you only to call if absolutely necessary eg no heating but not  if eg  there was a light bulb out.

 

WHAT IF SOMETHING GETS DAMAGED?

We take a bond of £300 to cover any damage or breakages during your stay and also encourage you to let us know of any damage or breakages on departure in  order that we can replace / repair in time for the next guests.

DO WE NEED TO CLEAN PROPERTY BEFORE LEAVING?

YES, property should be left as it was found on arrival. We supply a range of cleaning materials and each lodge has adequate supply of refuse bins etc
